Gettysburg College was a formative experience for me - a place to become an historian and learn how to do the work of history. It was also the place I grew beyond Civil War and military history into the boundless worlds of social history and historical memory.

Shippensburg University is a deeply nurturing environment that strives to help its students prepare for a real world experience. The program champions field experience and community engagement above all else. Shippensburg showed me just how caring history colleagues can be.

Interpretation

For more than a decade, I’ve served as a park ranger and interpretive trainer for the National Park Service, piloting new and innovative ways of communicating with park visitors.
